I am fitting a new circular element (262180) to my Neff 1552 fan oven. I unscrewed the old element and when pulling it into the oven to release the wires from the spade connectors the wires slid off the connectors before I could make a note of which wire was connected to which terminal. I was wondering if anyone could advise the correct wiring configuration? The earth lead to the centre terminal of the element is identifiable because the other end is connected to an earth tag on the chassis of the oven. I am left with 2 wires that are joined together into one “push on” connector and 2 single wires each with a push on connector. The ends of the circular element each have a pair of connector spades.
The heat sheathed insulation on the wires is not very conspicuously coloured so I will probably have to identify the wires by tracing where they have come from and where they lead to. I could also run a voltage test to see which wire is live when the oven switch is turned on.

You can sometimes tell by scratch marks on the terminals of the old element whether a male spade has ever been fitted with a female spade. If one of the double terminals looks like its only ever had one spade fitted the 2 individual wires probably go on the other double terminal. On the other hand, I suppose it might have 3 wires on one terminal and one on the other. sorry, that’s not much help. 😳
Don’t just think you can fit and hope. There is another thread on here about someone who did just that…..and found it to be an expensive mistake .
