ParticipantAfter advice from this forum I am trying to replace the thermistor in my washer/dryer.
I rec’d the part today and although it has the same part number as the old one (279) it looks different.
The old one is connected to by a plug whereas the new part has 2 rectangular prongs each with a hole in it.
Can I use this new part, maybe by cutting off the plug and soldering, or do I need a different part.
I’ve attached some pictures for info
thanks for your help

PS. The new thermistor prongs fit onto a red spade crimp. Could I remove the plug from the wires and crimp??
Cheers

Participantas much as im tempted to say it would be ok, if you soldered the wires on, id prefer to say that you’d be better off with the correct thermistor
u need an idc type
your call…

Think the one you have is the the pre idc connector dryer thermistor, the wash thermistor is a plastic can this has a metal can.
