ParticipantHi, hoping this will be a simple one for someone to answer,
Zanussi FJ1296 complaint no drum action, motor seems ok, brushes perfect & continuity through pins, wiring all fine from motor to module & timer,
Took module out & had a look, could not see anytthing blown,
Put back in & tested from motor, 240v across all pins at some point to earth, then on spin prog after about 2 minutes the motor turned twice for about 3 seconds with a 10 second gap, then no more, put on a rinse & machine filled tumbled again clockwise for about 10 seconds then paused, then 10 seconds again (still clockwise)
So module or timer fault?

Got two or three modules that look like that, one new, others s/h. Could lend them to you to try in. PM if that’s any use.

546546 or 546547 computer board fitted to this machine – both suffer with motor control issues. Look at http://www.emwelec.co.uk, best way to repair the machine cheaply. And if your diagnosis is wrong, send it back!!

Just ring EMW up with the model number and the number off the timer.
They often supply timers and boards together at a good price.
Just have a chat, they are very helpful and as has been alluded to – if it`s not the problem just send it back for a fiver.

hotpnt,
At first look I think that is PCB fault… from your description it makes movement on one side and after he make pause when he should turn in other side…
Verify which relay is activated when he is turning and in the other relay should be activated in other side movement (in your case=pause). If you measure 12V/24V on that relay but he isn’t moving, change relay…
Give please PNC… perhaps I can help with some info.

Sorry Hotpnt, 😳 the FJ1296 is actually fitted with the 2004 timer and 4029 (blue spot) module. Both at EMW.

I’m sure now, after reading connection diagram and type of timer/PCB, that is timer fault. I have repaired a lot of this kind of timers… is usual…
I can send some info… email address?
