I have a problem with the wok burner ( large) flame on my Ilve gas cooktop. The other burners are ok but the big one seems to have a softer flame than the others. The flame comes around the sides of the saucepans and has burnt the handles of a couple of them.
Is there anything you can think of that might cause this. Many thanks, Kerry

It’s probably the burner design but I would ask the Corgi engineer who installed it to check it for safety reasons.

In the meantime, please don’t use that burner 🙂

Make and model would help also 😉

    Hi
Is this something thats happened after you had cleaned it?Im thinking you havent seated the burners and or covers correctly.
If after checking its all seated , then its the same advice as Dave.

I use a wok burner a fair bit, what sort of pan are you using on it?

I ask because the wok burners are generally designed for a round bottomed wok, they don’t work so well quite often with a normal flat-bottomed pan. Unless of course you have one with an internal and external independent burner.

The idea is to put a lot of heat into a wok for flash frying wich does not not really suit general cooking.
