ParticipantHi everyone,
I have a Indesit WIXL123 washing machine 6 months old which was working fine till yesterday. Now it starts as normal but just after 5 or 6 spins in 2 minutes it drains all the water and stops with light 4 flashing (slowly) and door lock light flashing (quickly). What could be the cause?
thanks in advance.

Door lock error, if door is closed correctly then send for the Indesit Company, its under warranty so don’t mess about with it.

I actually havd bought it from ebay in half price six months ago. It was brand new but wasn’t been provided receipt or guarantee card which was lost by actual buyer. Can we actually fix it by ourself?
Thanks alotRegards,

Six months old is very near to its ‘sell buy ‘ date already. :rolls:
The error codes are only a guide and often the fault turns out to be the woefully unreliable electronics used in these machines. 😥
To repair those would cost you more than its worth TBH.
You could check on the door latch mechanism, and all wiring connections, with the mains plug removed first of course. you could even try a new door lock but they don’t normally fail so soon.
PS. If you paid £100 or more then you have seriously overpaid.

Just to pick your brains Jim, if the interlock had failed, would it still allow it to rotate the drum at all? Just i always thought if the interlock had failed it wouldnt allow any of the cycle to start, because its right at the beginning of the process?! or is it different on this model?

Its an Indesit :rolls: anything is possible. All I know is that light 4 flashing is F17 Door lock error, allegedly. :con:

Hi Everyone,
The same machine stopped giving flashing lights (light4 and door locklight) now but also doesn’t rotate the drum as it used to do before for 5-6 times before draining the water.
Now it just take water in twice at start and then stops with door lock light and wash light on but does nothing. This happened after i cleaned the detergent chamber. Any clue? Thanks in advance.

What are we supposed to do here? You signally failed to answer any of the original questions or suggestions put to you, now we’re supposed to do it again?
LED 4 flashing is a motor fault. Motor, brushes, wiring, computer – take your pick.
Stay safe, power off first if you intend to deal with this yourself.
