ParticipantHoping you can help. The start button on my JLWM1407 flashes green but won’t actually start when I press it. I though the problem was with the door as the plastic was broken, I replaced it but still no joy. Any thoughts? Thanks

Thanks for your response Dave. No, it just keeps flashing on/off consistently. Adam

right try this
1. Switch off the appliance.2. Press and hold down the START/PAUSE button and the nearest OPTION button simultaneously
3. Holding down both buttons, switch the appliance on by turning the programme selector one position clockwise.
4. Continue to hold down the buttons until the LEDs begin to flash (at least 2 seconds).
In the first position, the cycle tests the operation of the buttons and the relative LEDs.
If the selector is turned clockwise, the cycle performs the diagnostics for the various components and reads the alarm codes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12e9aL4GNxc (similar machine but not in English)after you in this mode in position 1. turn the knob clockwise to position 10. this will give the last error code. All other switch positions test various components
position 2 door interlock and wash solenoid
position 3 interlock and pre wash solenoid
and so ontry position 2 at least we know door lock ok if it works

E51 is motor traic short circuit
yes it could be this would need a new one soldering into the board or a new board but poss faults to get same result areearth fault on motor. can be damp (had condensation on one once causing this). Also check carbon brushes. as they wear they give off carbon dust which is conductive so take each one off and clean them
