I have a Flavel Cascade 50 gas cooker.
When i tried to light the oven yesterday it would not remain lit.
What you have to do to light the oven is,press the oven knob in and then light the oven manually keeping the oven knob pressed in for about 5-10 seconds.
It will not remain lit when i let go of the oven knob, have tried holding it longer but still goes out.

Read somewhere that it might be the ‘Thermocouple’ that needs replacing.
I even tried giving it a light scrub where there ws any dirt/grease but still will not remain lit when i let go of the oven knob.
Doe anyone know where i can get this fixed please?
I am in Manchester (M15) and would like to know of a reliable repair service, preferable one that does not charge if it cannot be fixed.
I have contacted Flavel but with it being Easter have not heard back from them yet.
any help or advice would be appreciated, thankyou.

any engineer worth having is going to charge to come out.
    but
as you say its most likley the thermocouple. if you do a search on this site for an engineer who repairs gas appliances he would most likely give you a cost for replacing the thermocouple, but, there is a slight chance its not so a charge would apply if the repair was not as expected

things you can look for. the thermocouple sensor is in the flame. check the burner for blocked jets as if the sensor does not get hot enough it will not stay on
