Flavel-Leisure Victoriana cooker not heating up

Hi,

I’m hoping someone can poijnt me in the right direction. I’ve got a Flavel-Leisure Victoriana gas cooker, and the oven has just stopped getting hot. The hob and grill are fine. The flame in the oven ignites OK and remains alight, but the oven just remains barely warm. My initial thought would be the thermostat ? If so, is this something that I can fix / adjust myself ? Or are there any other components that may cause this.

Finally, if I do have to call in a professional, any ideas how much work is involved – e.g. is it a quick 20-minute job or a major task ? Just to give me an idea to save me getting fleeced 🙂 Many thanks.

Certainly a thermostat or thermocouple issue.

You must not attempt any sort of repair yourself – please read the sticky at the head of the forum.

Any CORGI engineer will charge for at least an hours work, there will be a considerable amount of dis-assembly involved. You should discuss the rate when you are making the appointment.
