problems with the main fan oven not working. thought it may have been the thermal cut out fuse but when i removed the back panel there is a brown and white wire which looks like has snapped. it has a rubber sleeve over it (the snapped section) which a silver component inside. i am not sure what this is and would i be able to get a replacement anywhere.
regards

It’s a thermal fuse from your description.

Yes its now supplied as a thermal cut out stat and not a thermal fuse so the kit you describe would be correct.

No diagrams i’m afraid, if you are not up to doing the job, best advice would be to get an engineer to complete the job.

I had problems with my fan oven being inoperative. Everything tested out fine but noticed that the pilot light for the oven was not lighting up, also that the control dial could be turned in either direction. Removing the top of the hob revealed that the oven control is in two parts. These had become separated. Once the back control was reseated, the pilot light returned and hey presto the fan oven now works. Worth a look.
