ParticipantHello
My Bosch SMV68MD00G/63 got flooded when our house flooded just before Christmas. It had about 6 inches of water in it for a few hours. I now have an Error code E03 when switching the dishwasher on. This I believe is a power module failure of some kind. Is this likely to be repairable by e.g. replacing the power module and, if so, is this likely to be the only problem?
Many thanks.

Moderatorif the water got high enough to get at the module it also got high enough to get at most of the electrics including both motors and the diverter valve
not worth the riskDave

ParticipantHi Dave
So you reckon it’s a write-off?
Rather gutting as it’s only 6 months old!
Thanks.

Moderatorwould not trust it if its got that wet
most insurance companies would write it off

ParticipantWasn’t planning to go through insurance as worried about future cover.
So it’s a £650 hit and you can’t even get hold of them at the moment 🙁

Moderatoryou could take out the power module and look far water damage. chances are one of the plugs got underwater and tracked out
but at the end of the day you have to be certain you can trust it so without pat testing it you cannot be sure

ParticipantThanks. I’ll probably give that a try as I haven’t got much to lose!
Is there an easy way to get it out or do you have to get the whole bottom off?

Moderatortake right hand side out
remove mains lead
you quite often have to pop off the drip cover as it does not come high enough to get it out with it onit then lifts up vertically ( there is a plastic latch holding it to case side) after it clears the slide rails behind the mains plug it just lifts out

ParticipantThanks Dave
I managed to get it out. There does seem to be some damage to the bottom of the circuit board:

Can these modules just be replaced? I can’t seem to find the one with the correct part number 9001 340 154 anywhere.

ModeratorYes that’s been wet. Can’t quite see but it looks like the connector at the top of the pic has been tracking.
all you can do is clean it up as best you can everywhere the water has been and any things that look like they have tracked and try it again. If it fails then board is dead
with that much water it’s hard to justify putting a new board in itDave

ParticipantThanks – I’ll give it a go. Do I need PCB cleaner to clean up the board? Or maybe IPA?
