After filling a short while it stops and flashes 7 times which I beleive is the flow meter (correct me if wrong)
Can this be bought without changing the complete Can-measuring / water chamber as they call it, as the cost is rather high.Regards Mark

Nope, complete assembly. You can buy the reed switch from RS/Maplins and the like for pennies though……

1. Would this cure the 7 flashes?
2. What and where on the dishwasher is the “reed switch”Regards Mark

Normal fault is oxidisation of the contact pads on the reed switch pcb. A good clean and a pinch of the connector usually sorts it. The reed switches themselves can fail, giving no signal when the water wheel spins.

This swich is a different shape etc, how does this fit into the plastic water meter tank on the left hand side of the dishwasher?

Hi Mark, I pull out the little pcb that houses the reed switch, de-solder the old and solder in the new. I also tin the contact strips with solder to bring them out a bit and make a tighter connection to the plug.
Cheers,
