Can anyone tell me if fluorescent brighteners fade coloured clothing? Some say they do others say they don’t. A lot of my bright coloured clothing looks dull despite never washing them in FB.

Fluorescent brighteners are designed to make whites look artificially brighter in UV light. They have no perceived effect on coloured fabrics and therefore little point in using them!
If your colours are getting duller I suspect you are not washing them correctly in the first place!
