KeymasterWe have a new washer on the way, rough specs on the news from the meeting that’s on the homepage now which we let everyone know about on Friday at the UKW meeting.
Trade price is sub-£160 and I say it that way ’cause I can’t recall the price but if you give John a ring he can tell you what it is. Basically this is to capture the cheaper end of the market with a built-in two year warranty from the get go.
IIRC it’s a 1400 5 or 5.5Kg load with the usual stuff you’d expect including decent priced spares etc.
Delivery is expected by the end of the month.
If you want to know more just give John a ring on 07979 520916 for all the details.

Is there any chance of posting some info on the ISE2, I had never heard of it until the ISE10 competition was announced.

Sure Barrie. On Monday John and I are cobbling together some information on a PDF that should go out next week for everyone.
But I’ve gotten more info and I was wrong, it’s a 1200 AAB rated machine.
It’s a basic machine that is actually pretty neat, some of the guys had the pre-production sample in bits (as usual :rolls:) at Sibson and they think it’s okay. At the moment they are on the water en route to Liverpool and should arrive there on or around the 17th. By the time they clear customs and get to warehouse deliveries should start around about the 22nd.
Trade price is about £156 excl. VAT and, on registration, they carry a 2 year warranty which is underwritten from day one. Basically to cover the lower end of the market but, unlike most other manufacturers and as is the way with ISE, you get your own service work back at a sensible rate.
Due to the fact that we make almost no money on these we have to deliver them three at a time, otherwise we’d make a loss on them. You can however mix and get less if you’re ordering ISE5 or 10 in with it but to include the 2 the order has to be three machines minimum. It’s either that or we’d have to start charging the delivery, which we obviously don’t want to do. Basically, one-off drops of ISE2 just aren’t economically viable.
The reason we’ve done this is that so many people were asking us for a low end machine that could be sold in the £220-290 sort of price range. We got the chance at it and thought we’d give it a whirl and support the guys with what they need so now you have top, middle and bottom of the market covered on washers.
We are working on both dish and tumble although whether either ever arrive under the ISE2 banner is debatable.
Technical and spares information should be on the ISE site in the next few days as it’s pretty much all done, I just need polish it a little and upload it.
The machine is made for us by a company called Vestel who do not sell in the UK under their own name however, they do make machines for Whirlpool and others and know what they’re about. So far as I know the machine we have is internally like some of the new Whirlpool machines but looks very Germanic (aka, BSH ;)).
I do have a photo of it but it’s a generic one from the factory I’m afraid so I can’t give you a picture of the finished machine until they touch down with me.
If you need anymore info just ask.

Yeah, Chris. Barrie’s seen the ISE10 now as he’s sold one washer and one dryer so far. 😉
I’m watching it, whisky depends on it…

ISE2 has landed in the UK this morning, two days early. 🙂
They will be in the warehouse on Thursday when any pre-orders will be placed so they should be with you next week, Friday if you’re really lucky, but I suspect most will be next week.

What is the retail price of the ISE2`s, and can I have 3 please?

KeymasterRe: For Those That Missed It…
There’s been no retail price set yet Barrie, more to give everyone a chance to set their own to be honest. However, if we put it online then we’d be selling it at about £250 or so I’d think plus delivery, so going on for £300 in real terms. What you sell for is entirely up to you, we just like to give you a fighting chance. 😉
No problem on the three, I’ll sort that for you now. 🙂
Thanks.

Ken, you mentioned earlier that you were working on making a pdf file available for the ISE 2 spec. Is that available yet. I am looking for info to print and leave with customers. What price are others going to be selling at? I thought maybe £250
RonOctober 18, 2007 at 10:12 pm #229278kwatt
KeymasterYeah Ron I have a provisional one done, if you remind me in the morning (’cause I will forget) I’ll email it to you.
£250 has been mooted by a few people and, were we to put it in the shop then it’d be £250 plus delivery/install. 😉

I was going to sell it at £279.99 with free delivery and installation. I have been selling the Gorenje 1400 spin at £259.99 and it comes with 2 year guarantee but I was buying it cheaper than the Ise2 and at this price I was selling them faster than I could get them in.
I think next to the ISE10 and ISE5 this will give some credence to the ISE2 and therefore allow you that little bit extra.

I am thinking of £259 including delivery and installation. At the moment I am doing a Hoover HNL7166, 1600 spin, 6kg drum for £289 delivered and installed. The fact that the ISE2 is only a 1200 spin 5kg is a shame. Most of my customers are after a minimum 6kg drum capacity. I think if you price it any higher than this you will scare people off.
October 19, 2007 at 6:09 pm #229282kwatt
KeymasterIt’s a compromise as ever Tim, loads of people were asking for the 2 year warranty (parts and labour) which the Hoover hasn’t got. I know it’s got 5 year parts but all that means is that you’re not likely to see it for five years… if ever. 😕

Agreed. I just hope my ‘in the first year go back to hoover, second year onwards come back to me’ sinks in. I believe it does but I can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. Unlike you can with selling the ISE.
My main concern is the spin speed and drum size, rather than the repairing afterwards.
