ParticipantHi everyone!
The defrosting heating element of my Samsung RSH5UBBP was causing the main MCB to trip randomly after a few hours. After disconnecting it all is good so I’m now looking to replace it. The spare part that is marked as compatible for my model has two connectors instead of one (like the piece I’ve removed). The fridge came with the house so I’ve no idea if the item was replaced in the past with a wrong one, however the only place where I could connect one of the two connectors is on the area above the heater and evaporator, so I doubt that’s the case.
When I disconnect the panel and remove the connectors for the fans, I can see the one connector is unused (the one marked in green in the picture below):
Originally the defrosting element I’ve removed is connected in the connector between the other two in the area below, just where the arrow is pointing. Here’s a picture without the top connector:
The spare part that any site suggests is this one https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/da47…defrost-heater and as you see it has two connectors.
So here’s my question, did the previous owner installed the wrong piece and the new piece has a connector that needs to go in the area below and one in the area above (although the panel kind of press in that section so I don’t think so), or the suggested part is the wrong one and I should buy the old one?
In that case, isn’t odd that a connector is free and attached to nothing? Here are two pictures of the old heating element:
Many thanks in advance

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply!
No local shop have the spare part so I’ve found it online, ukwhitegoods sells it too but the one it shows as compatible with my model is the one with the double connector. I’ve also have the serial of the fridge I’m not sure if that’s helpfulFebruary 28, 2024 at 10:37 pm #489650electrofix
Moderatorif you message uk whitegoods shop and send a pic of the model plate plus describe where it is they should be able to identify it
when I looked it up I found 2 listed for the unit. one in the fridge the other in the freezer

DA47-00321LHi electrofix,
yes I need the one for the fridge, which should be the DA47-00321L one but that one has two cables (one at each end of the unit)
