Hi Alexa
From reading past forum posts, I think your just the person who could help me.
I have a Fisher Paykel 085 “smart !!!” Drive 5kg washing machine (bless its soul)
I bought it second hand from a dealer, came with 12 month waranty, of course it broke down 14 months after buying it.
It all started when the the water would not flow properly into the machine. I was told that it must be a water valve, so I changed the one that I thought was bad. Plugged everything in and then BANG sparks and smoke came out of the motor control board. Opened it up and found that a fuse had blown, thanks to a cockaroch shorting it.
New reconned motor control board ( AU $200) and then I was stuck with the same problem, after buying another balance sensor, I managed to get the water to enter the machine OK. But the problem is that now the pump will not empty the tub, it works for about 10 seconds, then stops, works 3 seconds then stop and carries on like this for about a minute and then a warning sounds and a number of leds are displayed.
Am I right in reading this same problem in a forum ?
Also I think you have the diagnostic decoding info, could you please send them to me…….
I am at the end of my wits with this machine, and it is getting to be costly.
I need help……June 30, 2005 at 1:18 am #139876alexa

There is some interesting info on the stuff you sent me, firstly my
machine had water in the tub when I fitted the new motor control.
Next I have done a diagnostic ( level 3 ) and the result I got back is
“11”.????
Should I sit down to read what you are going to tell me ?
Thanks again.July 1, 2005 at 6:25 am #139880alexa

OK
I think the problem is solved, I have done 3 loads, and all seems to be working fine. The problem was as the machine said (code 11). Tub needs to be empty before connecting the new motor control.
Thank you very much with your help. You have saved me money and face.
P.S. almost upset that the problem was`nt a bit more challenging !!!! -
