Hi, I just found your site recently, and it looks like a great resource. I’ve tossed a few old washers before because I couldn’t diagnose them, and they were too old to warrant the cost of a professional. Hopefully with your help I won’t have to toss my F&P – or at least I’ll know what I’m getting into with a repair.

I have a F&P 601 that does not fill. All lights are on & power seems fine. I think (never done it before) the diagnostics are 000 001 00 010. Can anyone help me with this beasty?

    thanks,
    Lindsay

Doesn’t fill at all – absolutely no water flow. I have manually filled it to see what would happen, but still nothing. It wouldn’t wash, spin, or empty. So I poked around inside it to see if there was anything obviously wrong, but I couldn’t see anything. Any ideas welcome!!

Re: F&P 601 does not fill

Ok, I’ve got sick of going to the laundromat to do my washing, so I’ve had another go at my machine.
The problem is that the lights light up & it appears to be ready to go, but absolutely nothing happens when I attempt to start a wash cycle. Following instructions from this site, I’ve managed to find out the following though:

In diagnostics mode, the light sequence is:
    00010000011. hopefully this means something?

Also when in diagnostics mode, depressing the wash temp up button fills the machine with hot water. depressing the wash temp down button fills it with cold water. Depressing the regular button empties the machine. I guess this means the valves and pumps work.

any insights into this would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Should be a rotor position sensor fault, down by the motor. Can be wiring, sensor or electronic board. You’ll need a test meter to test properly, power off when inside.
