Participantthe 703 is statring to play up after 10 years or so and after finding this site I thought I would try to go through the error codes.
held down water temp while hitting the power. No Beeps, so I toggled the the spin buttons till slow and hold were alight any way but the Water Level High and Low were also alight. So after my failure I went to turn it off and all the led’s between Rinse and Spin lite up and would not go out unless I turned it off at the wall.

Help thyself………
The recycle feature is on, instead of off, so the machine will repeat any cycle for ever. To turn recycle off:
Hold wash temp down and then press power. Wait for the two beeps. Press and hold advance, press water level up once, then power off.
That should do the trick.
Then tell us what was originally wrong with the machine…………. 😀

tried the above and same results
Problem, the machine would be very slow to fill if just on cold water (a very slow trickle almost drips) but once washing it was fine until the other day it would get to rinse stop and start to beep with the hot and cold water temp buttons flashed

So, probably a cold water valve problem. This a proportional flow device – the bigger the voltage, the faster the flow. They do play up, so that’s the place to start.

so if I was to hook the coldwater to the hot water inlet and set the temp to hot it should run and fill etc faster? (until I get the new valve anyway)
thanks, I try that and see how we go

Until you get to rinse – cold water only……….

yeh up to that stage now and it is taking for ever to go through the rinse. Will try and get inlet proportional valve, hopefully this solves the problem.
May have to top up the rinse cycle by bucket

would there be a problem using part no. 426142 (inlet proportional valve – hot water) instead of 426143 (cold) is there really a difference between the parts?
Thanking you inadvanceJune 2, 2007 at 11:48 pm #215418Penguin45
ParticipantRe: F&P 703 the misses is killing me
Was wondering where you’d got to………
426143 is the cold water valve. It is a proportional flow device, ie, by controlling the voltage supplied to the valve, the machine can vary the flow of cold water into the machine against the hot.
426142 is not a proportional valve. It gets hit with 12vDC and is either open or closed. Much less than 12v, it won’t work at all………
Better buy the right one.

thanks for the quick reply, I had been caught up with work etc and finaly had a chance to pull out the valve (just lazy and the misses does the washing). Will try and source part tommorrow(Monday), seems a common problem with these machines the more I read the site so hopefully they part is in stock.
Thanks again, will let you know how I go

Thanks Penguin45, proportion valve is in and all is fine. Washing as per new, again thanks for the help. 😀 😀
