ParticipantHi there, I have a problem on a GW52-K that seems similar in some respects to others listed here although the model number isn’t and the diagnostics don’t seem to work . on starting the fill valve (cold only) will pulse rapidly for several seconds after which it will stop, beep continuously and the wash progress lights show 00000100 (not flashing) . It will pump the water out if set to spin cycle, but thats it. There are no obvious faulty parts in either module
thanks in advance for any infoAugust 1, 2006 at 11:10 pm #183822Penguin45

You sure about that model number?
Anyway, basics for judderings on start up – the classic lid switch and out of balance switch are old favourites – check for corrosion, function. Cold valve itself can go faulty (especially if it’s the “proportional” type).
The panel lamps and beeping are probably a user warning – they should be accompanied by a flashing lamp on the control panel – ie cold water LED indicates problems with the cold water circuits, etc.
HTH,

Thanks for the reply,
yup model is correct , I should mention it was New Zealand new and probably one of the first models of this type ECS or “genlte annies” as they were called I think, it is very old. Not so much of a juddering just the cycling of the valve as normal but a bit faster (it does fill with cold water briefly) , switches are ok. The only light that is lit is the “spray/rinse” lamp in the wash progress display , might be time for retirement!

OK, you got me – can’t find anything on this one at all……….
If we apply a few basics here: rinse light on at the fault point is an out of balance fault – is it beeping? Can still be OOB switch – is the the tub bias spring still in place? Drum in wrong place can actuate switch on a nuisance basis.
Motor controller is the other culprit, but it’s expensive. How old is this one? My tech info goes back to 1991, so 15 years.
Alternatively, approach the problem from the other end……. Set it to spin only. If it does it, try one rinse and spin – go backwards ’til it faults, it may help narrow things down…….
