Regarding a Fisher and Paykel GW601-K:

    My previous topic was:
“I have plugged it in turned it on etc. everything lights up, but the start/pause button won’t work.
Have trawled forums, getting it to fill/empty in diagnostic mode. The error code comes up as 00100010, can anyone help me out with what I need to do with it? “

I have since acquired a new display module, and after replacing it, now no power is going through the machine when i turn it on at the powerpoint! It no longer does the little light-flashy beep thing at the start (when power goes into it), and thus doesn’t turn on.
All i did was unplug the original display module from the other board and plug in the new one. Could i possibly have knocked something or done something wrong? All plugs that i can see are plugged in firmly. If another part was dead, and it was nothing wrong with the display module, then i would expect to see the same problem as before. I am now entirely perplexed and about to give up!
My other option is to get someone to come and fix it, but money is a bit of an issue at the moment.

Any help/advice would be entirely appreciated!

    Thanks

Display module Installation is straight forward Check plugs etc Power Supply OK?
If no power at all I can only say Motor controller
Have you tried it with your old display module

In your initial post it was suggested from diagnostics (Code 34)
    Brake resistor fault
    Primary source motor controller
    Secoundary Source Display Module

    Hi, thanks for replying!

I’ve tried putting the old module back in and that’s not doing anything either, whereas before i could at least turn the machine on.
Would replacing the motor controller be straight forward enough if i got the part? (I have no knowledge of washing machines, but good electronics basics). I’m assuming that’s the other main board that all the wires plug into. Is there a way to confirm this is the part not working, using a multimeter or something?
I’m just puzzled that it was ‘working’ before with the old module, and now won’t turn on with the old one or the new one. Unless a fuse has blown or something.

    Thanks

    Re: F&P GW601-K secondary problem?!

If no power has to be motor controller
Pretty straight forward to fit /plug in type fittings

Motor controller does have fuse in it (Many have tried to just replace fuse only for it to blow again)
IF fuse is blown it has for a reason
1/Could be component on PCB(Motor Controller)

    2/Could be faulty stator/Motor ETC

Check underneath machine for any signs of water leaks
a must on a machine of this age
With a blown out pcb (MC) have come across many instances in which
main shaft seal gives way /slow leak onto motor&or rotor postion sensor which in turn shorts out M/C

Mate if there are signs of leaks your RS
