Cold water valve not working. Can be dodgy wiring, electronics or valve itself.

Penguin45,
Thanks for your reply….
If I swap the hot and cold valves, will this create a different error, so I can narrow it down from electics/contol/valve?
Thanks again, from one ‘yorkshireman who defected’ to one who’s still there!

Soviet Republic of Oz, eh?
Right, the cold valve is the “proportional” type – flow varies with voltage applied – hot valve is a conventional “open/closed” type, so the computer may not operate the valve correctly and may well detect another error………
The valve is p/no 425320 – Kiwi suggests it’s not an expensive part, but I can’t really advise you as I’m still in the Motherland.
I’d start there, assuming that you’ve got some sort of supply to the valve – it should max out at 12vDC.

Well I checked the valve, according to fastandpro! all good – so went back to electronics. Put new board in and the machine at least responds – BUT – now getting 1sec beep and 00001001. Checked the error diag and coming up all zero’s. – so assume this means ok…Balance ok, water to it…any other ideas?
Thanks guys…December 4, 2005 at 1:11 am #155676Penguin45

You’re halfway there – now you’ve got the size error. So – Press and hold “Water temperaure up”, then press “Power”. You should now have up to three LEDs lit – “cold water”, “low water” and “hold”. For a 5kg machine, press “wash temp up”, then “power”. For a 6kg machine, press “water level up”, then “power”. For 7kg, press “spin speed up”, then “power”.
To see if you’ve got it right, start a programme……..

sorry to dig up an old thread.
But I have a very similar issue. When I turn the machine on (from power point) I get beeping and the 00110001 code. Code 49 inlet valve im told by F&P.
I have measured the resistance on the valve and I get 61ohms for cold and 63 ohms for hot. No rust can be seen.
I can not get out of the mode where it is beeping and the code is up.
Help much appreciated.
Thanks in advane
