Hi UKW – great team here

our machine has tripped the RCD a couple of times in the last 24 hrs, sometimes not. Tends to flash and carry on when plugged in, will not turn off with Power button.
Seems like I have got it into diagnostics – as per other posts – and shows

    00110000

I unplugged the harness which runs to the lid and the out of centre microswitch, no difference.

As it happens I have an old main control module, and so have swapped that in, pretty much the same symptoms, but can’t get it to settle into diagnostics as easily.
The old module choked up on the hard water we had in a house we were in, other than that this machine has gone like a clock. Would buy the same again if the same innards are sporting a new number.
I have had a fairly weak attempt to wiggle all the wires from the inspection door in the front of the machine, seems OK enough.

My three year old boy has also conveniently hidden my multimeter since about a week ago……

Have been advised by “my colleague” that since tomorrow is Friday and washday, Harvey Norman are likely to be close to $1K better off, and we’ll have 2 largish white boxes with bowls, hoses and wires for gizzards, or else (or something). So just for interest sakes, I’d like to know if this is a fault code and what it means.

    Many thanks in advance

Odd one – code suggests that both inlet valves have a problem. Valves may be faulty but it’s a bit unlikely both will go wrong together. Check wiring and connectors is the place to start.

Follow up to that – I did buy another machine today, and a multimeter. I put it over the water solenoids, both about 17 ohms. No discernible current going to the solenoids. No amount of button pressing could get anywhere near a cycle.
    Thanks.
