ParticipantHi. This Topic follows on from my post where the machine fails to spin at full speed. Just to let you know, I replaced both water inlet valves (the cold one was cracked) and with a new motor controller, the machine will now run to fast spin. I still have a couple of issues:
1. Whilst going into the diagnostic mode, I don’t get the two beeps, although the machine seems to enter the diagnostic mode OK.
2. The water valves open fully when the machine first fills, but the valves don’t seem to be opening fully when the machine is topping up the water during the wash cycles (the valves & hoses emit an audible howl & very little water flows into the bowl).
Is it possible that I may have picked up another dodgy controller?
Cheers

Sorry for the delay – been pondering this a little. The hot valve is either on or off when required. The cold valve is a “proportional” valve – it lets in exactly the amount of water required at the rate required by the computer at any given point. The cold one does cause problems, even if you get a 15ohm reading through the valve.
Not much I can add really. If the valve is faulty, you should be able to nail it with the diagnostics. Failing that, check the obvious – lid switch and OOB switch are the obvious ones – corrosion and water damage seems to be an endemic problem.

Thanks Penguin45. I had already replaced both valves, so I don’t suspect the new ones. I have actually been using the machine & it seems to be working OK, except for the lack of the two ‘beeps’ when entering the diagnostic mode and the minor problem of the water flow during the wash (initially fills OK). I suspect that the reconditioned motor controller may not be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} serviceable, but I’ll live with it for the time being. I have now given the machine to my partners mother & she seems happy with it, so I’ll just cross my fingers. 8)
