The machine performs all normal pre start functions but when the start button is pressed there is no action. I have read with interest many threads and have performed the diagnostic test. I ended up with two different codes relating to the solenoid valves (49 & 50). During the diagnostic test I pressed a few other buttons and was able to get the solenoids working, both hot and cold, as well as the pump. I have pulled the boards out and there appears to be no damage but I haven’t gone over it with a meter.

49 + 50 refer to the cold and hot valves respectively – wiring is the most likely suspect (oxidisation seems to be a regular issue – clean all contacts and terminals). Check the valve coils for resistance as good practice.
No start is all too often related to the lid switch and the out of balance switch – top deck off to check.
