ParticipantOk time to talk to someone far more knowledgeable then I.
I have a GW712 which is generating the following code when attempting to move into its spin cycle: 00100101.
I rang the good people from F&P and they were happy to assist. Apparently it is a timeout when attempting to do a drain cycle. Unfortunately I live in the bush, so I have to kinda fix my own faults.
So I had a look and covered off the following checks.
1. Water level when set to high, filled to high. I concluded that the water level transducer on the control board was ok.
2. I disconnected the hose to the transducer and gave it a quick blow to clear any blockages. No blockage found.
3. Checked the drain hose for blockages, none found.
4. Removed the pump motor and inspected the impeller. No problem here. So turned the rotor. I got the barest of squeaks, but not enough to worry about. I gave it a lub anyway. I checked the winding, measured 30Ohms, without any signs of heating. Reassembled.
5. Whilst on its side I gave the washer a quick “once-over” for signs of leaks, corrosion etc. It looked good.
6. Ran the washer again but without any change in the fault condition.I did observe one thing though. Whilst draining (say from high) the pump would stop at roughly 1/2 way and then again at 2/3 of the original water level. It was almost like it was tripping on some kind of thermal shut-off, but I haven’t got a clue if the motor actually has one.
Has anyone got any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Great Detail Fault code is 37 Pump error
Pump does have a thermal cut Out. It will resset on cooling down
Pump should not get that hot that you cannot touch it (Power OFF ||||)
after it has been running
If it is getting to hot you will need to replace pumpApril 2, 2008 at 11:03 pm #247608fforoge

How’d. Back again.
I stuck a thermocouple temperature sensor onto the metal core of the pump. I did this on two grounds. Firstly, I had one that is bundled with the multimeter I have. Also I tend to have aversion to the smell of burning flesh, particularly if its mine!
Anyway back on subject, I measured a temperature of 74oC (162oF). Sounds a bit hot, so i will organise a new pump.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

The load through the TOC in itself can ultimately cook it – it starts to trip early……… Pump motor is the way to go.

Closing note, for other readers out there.
The water pump was proven to be at fault. I ordered a new pump in, and the machine is now fine.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
