If it’s 00010001 it’s a sequencing poroblem – display board and the motor control board are not talking to each other correctly. Pulling the plug for a while and re-connecting may clear it. If it doesn’t, you need to turn off the Auto Restart function and run the diagnostics as per the sticky above and see what you get.

If it’s 10001000 (136), it’s the motor stall error. Possible culprits are damaged wiring, seized drum, faulty motor, faulty Rotor Position Sensor or faulty Motor Control board.

    Thanks Penguin

    It is 10001000….

From your reply I gather this is going to be an expensive fix. Is it likely to be worth repairing or is it time for a new machine?

    Cheers

Checking the wiring should be straightforward enough – you’re looking for broken, chaffed or corroded stuff. Drop the rotor for full access to the stator – you’ll be able to see everything then.

The rest is rather more involved……. 🙂

    Power off,
