    Hi
I have a 4 years old GW712. It’s in good condition. It washes all ok up until the spin cycle. It just won’t spin. The lid lock light is off.
I read somewhere it might be a blocked drain pump. I’ve removed that and it was all clean.

At one stage gently hitting around the lid lock area helped. So I replaced the complete lid lock and wiring harness. Still the same just won’t spin.

Looking under the machine and going straight to a spin cycle I see the drain pump going and the bowl turns a little just once and the drain pump just keeps going.

Going in diagnostics mode as per the sticky I get 01111111
Thats the first led on the left is off and all others are on.
So I think that error code 254.

    Any ideas ?
My wife really likes this machine and it would be a shame to dump it already. I wish I bought extended warranty.

    Thanks.

Is the lid actually locked when it gets to spin? The late models won’t spin if it isn’t.

254 isn’t a code as far as I can tell.

No the lid doesn’t actually lock and the lid lock LED doesn’t come on.
I did suspect the lid lock unit and as I’ve said it’s been replaced with genuine part.
I’ve also inspected the main board and it looks like new. Nothing corrided.
All the soldering looks good also.
I did place an analogue multi-meter on the wiring to the lid lock solenoid and see nothing.

    Thanks.

Is the lid lock exactly the same as original. There are two, and not interchangeable. Other than that I suspect the controller has crapped out.
