F&P IW811 fault code 136

I have an F&P IW811 which is registering fault code 136.

I’d like to have a try at fixing this myself but am unsure of the level of difficulty or opportunity to mess it up.

Can you tell me what the problem is and how hard it would be to fix it myself.

If it’s relatively easy for a novice would you be able to provide direction on how to go about fixing it.

Computer has attempted to start the motor and it has not responded.

Check that the drum is free to turn when pushed round by hand. If it is jammed, the drum bearings may seized.

Wiring is the single commonest cause of the motor not running. You need to check the area where the loom turns under the drum for damage, corrosion, breaks, chaffing.

The problem can also be caused by failures at the star point on the stator, and the rotor position sensor, due to misalignment, physical damage or water.

Worst case is the motor controller itself having failed.

Plenty of things to check, I’m afraid. Power off at all times, please.
