F&P LW095AU Error Code 11010100

So yeah.. my Fisher Paykel Fresh 5.0 Smartdrive 9 is functioning badly (understatement). The error code, reading right to left (seems odd to me – but as per sticky), is 11010100 (212?). When I attempt to start a wash cycle the machine starts to fill with water, but then stops and starts filling repeatedly. The water intake valves seem to just open and shut, until the machine starts beeping.

If I remember correctly, because the washer has been sitting idly for about 6 months, it was a slow decline, whereby it originally filled with water, but would stop halfway through, and fiddleing with the controls allowed the cycle to occasionally be completed, but then it started doing this.

Anyone ? Cheers.

Update: The Out of Balance Switch is highly corroded, and the spring inside has snapped. I’m currently sourcing a new switch. In the meantime I’ve removed the switch completely, and playing with the terminals allows the tub to fill – which leads me to think that the out of balance switch was at least part of the problem. But leaving the terminals always connected, or unconnected, does not allow a proper wash. Perhaps it somehow checks to see if its working ?

Should the machine be able to function without the switch (always on or always off) ? Am I going to replace the switch for nothing ?

Sorry Lock, missed this one. Code 43 – OOB switch failure – you have classic symptoms. New switch should sort it.
