Hi, I have a F&P Smart Drive 051 which is not powering up at all.
I have opened the control panel and found a blown fuse, which I replaced with a 2.5, then 3 then 4 amp fuse, but each one blew as soon as power got to it.
I would appreciate to find out what amp I should use and if I used the correct fuse what the problem could be and what I can do about it?
Thanks and regards
Robert
Fuse should be 2A – don’t increase the value as you risk doing damage to the board.
The actual question is impossible to answer – you need to work your way round the various components looking for short circuits, earth leakage, damaged/chafed wiring and the like. Obviously a test meter is essential.
I found 2 blown diodes on my IW711 board. When they blew, they went closed circuit (not open) so as soon as the machine was powered up, the main fuse blew. You can test diodes in circuit with a multimeter.
