ParticipantI have a F&P Smart Drive 501.
When I start a wash cycle the cold water solenoid opens and starts filling the tub, the agitator turns. The solenoid then turns itself off / on several times ( short on period ) while the agitiator moves and then the unit stops with a continuous beep and all LED’s off except for the middle LED of the “Wash Progress” ( 3rd LED in of the 5 ).
I have just joined this Forum and have spent some time looking at other problems posted with the 501.
I have tried to run a hot wash instead with the same results.
Two months ago I had problems the the unit not turning on properly ( intermittant, LED’s did funny things, piezo did not always work, etc ) and I replaced the Display Module ( GW 426033 Logic / LED / Switch Unit ) and all was working perfectly untill a couple of days ago.
I have taken most of the unit apart and nothing looks unusual / broken / corroded.
I believe that I have finally worked out the diags mode ;
1 Hold “Temp Down” and press “Power”
2 Press “Advance” once
3 Press “Spin Speed Up” until the “Hold” and “Slow” LED’s are lit
4 Fault Code is the bit representation of the 8 “Wash Progress” LED’s ( reading left to right with 1 = on, 0 = off )and I get the following Fault Code : 0 0 1 0 1 0 1 1
Being an optomist ( and short of cash due to being out of work and just having my Hot Water System replaced ) I will continue to clean the unit ( Very Greasy / Grimy on the outside of the inner bowl) and hope that someone can help me with the above Fault Code
Thanks !
P.S. Happy New Year to ALL !

43 – Out of Balance switch faulty – check switch and wiring loom. Can be motor control board in worst case.
Power off if going inside………

Thanks Penguin45 !
You were right. The OOB micro switch was stuffed and the crimp connectors were badly corroded.
I replaced the switch and cut / re-crimped on new connectors and put everything back together ( after a good clean, etc ).
It is working again !
One question – My partner ( who bought the Washing Machine some years ago ) said that it used to fill, with water, much quicker and that a load would take around 45 minutes. Ever since I have been here it fills very slowly and a load takes around 90 minutes. Is there anything that I can check ? I believe that I read ( in another post ) that the solenoid valves are not ordinary Open / Closed valves, could the valve be part of the problem ?
Again thanks for your earlier help !
Cheers, JonP, 🙂

Good progress. Cold water valve is a 12v proportional one, check the filter mesh on the inlet for clogging. I am told that the valve can behave strangely as it ages. P/no is 425320 should you wish to order a replacement.
