ParticipantHello anyone! I have a Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive 701 that’s having a few problems. Please advise how I can perform Diagnostic tests.
Also, is there somewhere I can get a list of what the codes mean?
Thanks, Stephen.July 26, 2006 at 8:30 pm #183117Penguin45

Diagnostics (phase 2): Hold “Wash Temp Down” and the “Power”. Wait for two beeps, press “Advance” once. Toggle “Spin” until Hold and Slow Spin leds are lid. Progress board lights will now indicate the last fault. It’s a binary code from right to left, ie 1+2+4+8+16 etc. Lit is a digit, off is a zero.

Can’t publish the whole list, info is copyright to F+P. Tell us what you get and we’ll sort it from there.

Thanks penguin45. I’m pretty sure I followed your instructions. I didn’t get 2 beeps but otherwise it worked. This is the result.
The 5 lights from long wash to short wash were
0 0 1 0 0 and then Rinse 1, Final Rinse 0, Spin 0.I did it 4 times because the first time, I wasn’t sure what I was doing & I wrote down the following: the other 3 times I got what I’ve said above.

Thanks, Stephen.

OK, first one is the pump timing out – not draining fast enough. Second one relates to the water level control – the machine is not detecting a rising water level.
First one – check drain hose for nip, kinks trapping. If ok, get the machine as empty as possible and drop the pump motor. It’s a twist fit. Check for blockages, stuff getting trapped round the impellor etc. Power off, please.
Second one – check that the air hose is actually connected to the pressure switch and that it isn’t split, kinked, trapped etc.
Let us know how you go,
