    Hi All

Having a few problems with my F&P 701 smart drive
I have previously used this site to great effect when after reading the diagnostic codes I replaced the hot and cold inlet valves on the machine.

Recently it has been playing up again but i am having trouble getting it into diagnostic mode. As only some buttons and lights seem to be operable and I have not found much information while searching on this type of issue.

The current problem is when the machine is switched on some of the buttons are in disabled and you can not start a wash cycles or enter diagnostic mode

Only the temp up and down – water level – wash option and power button respond and when pressed. Even after unplugging the machine over night when turned on it goes back in to this same mode?

My wife reported this problem started when she was part way through a wash cycle, she lifted the lid to add softener and the machine wash cycle move up one stage indicated by the light on the panel. Every time the lid was lifted it advanced though a wash progress LED finally it came to the end and the buttons would no longer respond.

I am guessing the machine is knackered unless I can find another Panel, My current option after typing this is to pull off the front panel check for loose or corroded pins – earth point?
after that i am not sure.

    Any advice appreciated
    Many thanks
    Adam

Sounds like some sort of board failure – doesn’t meet any of the standard failure modes.

I gather re-con boards are available at rather less than new prices – might be worth thinking about given the age of the machine.
