F&P Smartdrive 5.5 Machine Screeching

Hi there,

I’ve been prowling your forums but haven’t found an answer to my problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Our F&P Smartdrive(little 9) Pride 5.5 has decided to stop draining, and makes a screeching sound when it starts on ‘rinse’ or ‘spin’.

Apart from any advice you can offer, i’d also like to know how to manually drain the machine. I’ve usd a cup to get as much water out as I can but there is still lots sloshing around in the base.

Hi Adam,
Drop the drain hose flat to the floor and stick the end in a washing up bowl – gravity will do the rest for you. The drain pump is a “twist fit” from underneath.

Make sure to unplug it, as there is a permanent live supply to the pump.

thanks for your advice, we drained it, cleaned as much dust out as we could then gave it a blast and its working now!
