    Zanussi Fridge/Freezer
    Model:Z 56/3 SI
    Product No. 925 881 658
    Serial: 13000088

I inherited this fridge freezer from someone else – who’s kids swung about on the freezer door. Therefore, when looking straight at fridge/freezer, the door tapers downwards slightly from left to right (left side = hinged side).

Therefore, I’m not getting a proper seal on the freezer – meaning its inefficient and I also have to defrost it regularly. This is becoming ridiculously frequent – so I have to take some kind of action now.

If it wasnt for this, it works fine, and aside from trying to save a few quid (recession biting!), it would be a shame if an otherwise functioning appliance is going to end up in landfill.

Have any of you come across this problem – and if so, how can I fix it?

Are there any bolts on the hinges? You may be able to loosen them, realign the door and then retighten them. Otherwise something may be bent which would probably need replacing.

At the very top (above the fridge door) theres a bolt and a metal bracket at the very end.
Between the two doors, theres a bolt either side of a metal bracket.
At the bottom of the freezer door, theres just a bracket – no bolt.

I took door off and found problem at base of freezer door. Put a couple of washers on it and put it back – still crooked but may not be as bad. Was only when I had it back on that I realised I can probably hinge from other side as all the slots are there. If current fix hasn’t worked, will probably try hinging from other side..
