I have to replace a lower hinge on a built in freezer door.Ive been advised to take the whole door off to do this. How am I supposed to hold the door in place whilst trying to attach door back on,being on my own?

    Re: Freezer hinge

its not too bad as you can do it with door closed and magnetic door seal will help to hold it

as a matter of interest since these hinges seldom fail unless they snap Why ?

Same happened with fridge.Just heard a snap noise then couldn’t close door.Noticed that the small white part inside the hinge had fallen into the mechanism itself.Presumably that’s what has snapped?

You will have to take the outer deco door off first then it is better to take off the complete freezer door to check both hinges as sometimes you will find the top hinge faulty as well.
It is not difficult to change the hinges as the door can be held closed by the tension of the hinge springs when refitting.
