Machine just over 5 years old (Serial No. Y2WB4293). Freezer section is set to -20C. Been away for 5 weeks and came back to freezer indicating -14C, added fresh food to freezer and some unfrozen freezer blocks, activated “Super Freeze” but compressor only ran at 4 bars even though freezer needed more and was now flashing -12C. Phoned Panasonic Customer Service who instructed me to turn it off for 20 minutes to reset it. I actually turned the appliance off for 24 hours and did a defrost. I turned everything back on and put the machine on “Super Freeze”, but the freezer section struggled to get below -12C. We then went away for another 4 weeks and came back to the freezer reading -13C. This time I put the fridge on “Super Freeze” again and I placed a brand-new digital thermometer in the bottom of the freezer and it is currently struggling to get below -5C! The compressor did work at 6 bars for a while, but it has now gone back to 4 bars.

Up until 3 or 4 months ago, the freezer was performing normally and always indicated -20C on the front screen and the contents were all fully frozen.

Note: the fridge and the vitamin safe area appear to be functioning normally.

Please could someone advise what the problem could be and what is the solution.

    Thank you
