I have an upright fridge freezer of a brand called ‘General’. Freezer is working fine and all however the fridge below is not, in fact it is barely reaching 16 degrees Celsius on its maximum setting. I read somewhere that this could be due to a faulty circulation fan or clogged drain, both of which are located behind freezer. My problem is that I cannot take off freezer’s back panel which has a visible gap all around but no screws. I even tried to remove the fridge’s side outer panel maybe I gain acess that way, but albeit I removed all the screws the panel won’t budge. Any ideas please?

First try turning it off for 48 hours with the doors open to carry out a full defrost.

Then turn it back on to see if that has solved the problem.

The rear panel most likely clips on but if there is any ice behind the panel it will not come off.

Just defrosting it may cure the problem without having to take it apart.
