ParticipantEvening,
I’m after a freestanding, upright freezer for elderly parents (in their late 80’s) but am constrained by width. 550mm is the absolute max. 560mm probably wouldn’t fit.
Height wise around 1760mm would be ideal give or take.
But it seems I’m having to look the cheaper end of the market; Beko, LEC, Fridgemaster, Essentials etc.
Is there a “best of” at the cheaper end?
Not keen on Beko or Hotpoint tbh.
Cheers

It has to be Beko everytime from that list. Reasonable build at a reasonable price and reasonably priced spares later down the line.

Cheers. I was avoiding Beko due to the fire stories of the past. Have they sorted that now?
The parents have a tendency to hoard and drop things like balled up tissues behind stuff.

I don’t think you’ll find any brand up to tolerating that or any other crazy stuff they can’t account for. 😉

That was due to a major supplier (no longer trading) who commissioned exclusive models which could be sold much cheaper than the genuine model variants which caused the few problems.
I am impressed with the Beko we have just purchased it also has the flame retardent back so it’s safe as can possibly be.
