Fridge Beko la720w

I have a fridge beko la720w with two brown wires connected to the mains which looks like some kind of external thermostat is this correct and where should it be positioned please advise

Any chance of a bit more info, like how you ended up with two wires hanging out the back?

Photos would be good.
