Been to this fridge freezer where the drain is blocked . Can pass a wire coat hanger almost all the way down then it seems to hit what i think is plastic not ice . So dont think this has ever been open . Can only see drain for freezer section but no outlet for fridge by looking from compressor side . Anybody else had this or do i try to push wire on through. Thanks for any replies

Hello, what makes you think it’s plastic and not ice? How old us the appliance? If it’s a few years old then the problem is more likely an insulation fault, causing the drain hose to block with ice.

    Hi

Have you looked at the back of the appliance ?

It has an internal drain line and it freezes up.

It will need a 48 hour defrost to clear it .

When it is clear if you spray silicon spray down the drain line it helps stop it from freezing.

The problem will return but it seems to last for at least 12 months before it freezes again if you spray it.

A landlord I know has this model in all his flats and sprays the drain every six months and this seems to solve the problem.
