I have a fridge freezer Ocean apm 6824 (from mfi). There is a toggle switch located inside the fridge just in front of the rotary thermostat adjustment knob. It lights up orange when operated but doesn’t appear to do anything else. Does anyone know what it’s there for? 😮

Not too sure on this model but this sounds like a fast freeze button.
Do not keep this switched on all the time as it will damage your compressor as it by-passes the thermostat. This is used for food you want to freeze quickly and only leave it on for about one hour.

I think It switches on a heater below the fridge evaporator. This speed up the fridge defrost and also makes the freezer colder (because the compressor runs more often.) So I think it’s a fast freeze/low-ambient temperature switch.

    Hi

It’s a low ambient temprature switch,Yes it does switch a heater on at the fridge evaperator to bring the thermostat back in when the appliance is used in an enviroment that is below 13oc.
