    Evening all

I’m in the process of buying a replacement fridge freezer for my parents, it’s to replace a 20 year old faulty one in their garage.

Having read on here & other websites it’s come to my attention that modern FF aren’t designed to be placed in rooms that are prone to temperatures below 10 deg C and that the freezer can start to defrost due to the low temperature in that room. Is there a FF that can be stored in a garage which basically gets as cold as the temperature outside?

My parents old FF never gave this problem.

    Thanks all.

No not at all. Modern fridges are controlled by electronics, it ain’t gonna work unless you heat the place best part of 5 – 6 months a year. Try to keep hold of your old one is my advice or find space in the house!

Beko produce fridge freezers to work in temps as low as -15 degrees using there freezer guard technology.

    Thanks for the replies folks.

The Beko seems ideal but I’m hesitant to buy what with the recent negative press about some Beko products setting alight?

    Thanks

Beko fridges are safe. Electrolux group have had some serious issues across their range, a huge PR dept ensures media coverage kept to min.

You’ll find the Beko a perfect fit.

    Thanks lee8 that’s reassuring.

I just read that the Beko would be OK in a garage(not designed for it they say), the freezer will function OK but the food in the fridge will freeze at the high minus temperatures. I suppose its a give & take situation, its a second fridge so they’ll have to keep delicate fridge foods in the kitchen Fridge freezer.

    Thanks
    joey
