Fridge Freezer Help, Please

Hi All,
Amazing site! I’ve read the main posts and some of the Topics on the subject but can’t quite find a recommendation that fits my requirements. I’d very much appreciate some comments, please.

I’ve had a Hotpoint Mistral Plus 8596 for, probably, 12 years and it seems to be on its way home! It’s currently cooling the freezer section but the fridge simply isn’t working. Probably time for a new one.

It has to fit a dedicated space so needs to be 600 x 1800 x 65. I’m happy with a 50/50 split and would prefer frost free and auto defrost. I’m a veggie so don’t store and meat or fish. Chilled water would be good, otherwise I’ve no particular requirements.

Picked up a couple of brochures and the Hotpoint Ultima FF187M seems to be the best Hotpoint that fits the bill. The Bosch KGN 34A00 look ok although I’d prefer 4 freezer draws.

Would very much appreciate comments and other recommendations.

Thank you Helo. Reading the articles here, I understood that one manf was not necesarily better than an other. My Mistral has worked fine for 12 years which I think is pretty good.

The prob with the Bosch is the 3 drawers.

Your ‘Hotpoint’ was actually made by Hotpoint, a new one would be an Indesit under the skin. Just put Indesit in ‘search’ then read and weep. 😥

Have you looked at Liebherr?

Oh dear. So Hotpoint is to be avoided now?

The major trouble I’m having is that the old model was 5ft high so I really need something 1800 max and most are 1850 which is too big. There are a couple of 1700 and 1750 (Hotpoint!) but v. little choice. Unless I start dismantelling the kitchen…

It might sound abit academic but why not have your original repaired. With this model its usually only the thermistors that need changing and a good defrost and you might get another 12 years 😆
