We called a repairer to fix a problem noise which occurred every time we opened the fridge door; it sounded like a motor winding down

The problem diagnosed by the repairer was “ice build up around fan. Remove fan & repair” That was on 11.11.2015

Now it’s making the same noise again when opening the fridge door, In addition it makes a noise when the fridge is rebuilding the temperature

This fridge had an extended warranty, but this has now ceased at the beginning of Feb 2016….just when we need it!

Any assistance as to what we should do would be appreciated. Unfortunately I did not watch the man do the repairs which took @20 mins, I thought this was a one off and the handbook is no help

Your first point of contact should be John Lewis call in your nearest shop and see the customer service team and if you a nice to them I am sure they will help as it is only just past the warranty and John Lewis are exceptional on customer service.

The only other thing you can do is empty it and turn it off for 48 hours with the doors open to fully defrost it.

I would say the repairer just defrosted it and you may have a problem with the defrost system or the defrost drain may be blocking due to a faulty N.R.V. or defrost sensor not a DIY job.
