I have an AEG frost-free fridge freezer which is 5 years old now. It may seem a no-brainer to some but when I load the (upper) fridge part with my weekly shop the temperature soars from the correct 4 degrees to about 11 and stays that way for some hours as it cools back to the set temp.
I can’t remember it always being so susceptible to heat rise. The door is never left open for more than a few seconds at a time even when loading it up. Is this because of the heatwave we’re having or just normal heat extraction? I have a maintenance contract so I don’t want to leave it if it can be sorted. Also it gurgles away during these cooling periods like Frankenstein’s laboratory which is distracting since it’s in an open plan dining-living area. I read here that this gurgling is normal though and it’s always done it since new.
Re: Fridge freezer temp rises when loading fridge.
Hi Lincoln,
Everything you have described is normal, there will be displacement of heat when you put food stuffs in the fridge.
The gurgles are also normal I’m afraid, I wouldn’t bother the maintenance contract for these problems as a lot of service cover schemes will charge for no fault found jobs.
