We have a Miele KD12823S which we got about 8 years ago because it was supposed to be energy efficient. Unfortunately, because we don’t tend to heat our house, when the temperature falls below about 20C a little heater switches on inside the fridge in order to make the cooling circuit work. When I spoke to Miele about this about a year after we bought it, thinking it was a fault, they said this was as intended as otherwise the freezer compartment would not stay frozen.
I am now on the lookout for another fridge freezer (A++ or A+++) but am concerned to avoid this problem. Any suggestions as to what to look for?
The official operating range of the Miele is (I believe 10 to 32 C)
