fridge freezer turns on for one second only

as subject, my beko fridge freezer only stays on for one second then cuts out. was going to just bite the bullet untill i found this forum. any help would be great. we never noticed there was a problem till yesterday, because the light is still on its just that it wont cool down. when you switch it of for a few seconds and then swich it back on you can hear it going for about one second then cuts out

model no is CN 264 W
make is a beko

Hi itsmeuk,

when you say it cuts out do you hear a click from the rear bottom of the fridge freezer, if so its the compresser that had failed, considering its age and condition it may be worth repairing.

its not going to be cheap but see if there is a local repairer on the site to give further help, or pop up your post code and somone will pick it up.

my god that was a quick reply. i think you could be right and its the compressor. i live in Fife, will look and see if there is a local guy to help. thanks guys
