Fridge Freezers and climate class T

Hello forum, I’m currently looking for a new American size fridge freezer. I had just about settled on a LG model but then noticed in their spec. that it is suitable for climate class T.

After some googling I found out this T is for tropical and the desired room temp for all of LG’s US style fridge freezers is 16 to 43 degrees Celsius.

Should I worry about buying climate class T unit when there are times when the kitchen temp falls below 16 i.e. When we are away for a few days in winter or maybe on the coldest odd night?

Ok I think I will steer clear. Even some of the samsungs are climate class T.

Makes me wonder if the whole big fridge freezer industry is one big corrupt organisation trying to make our lives harder than they need to be.

Why the hell would a climate class T fridge be on wide sale in the U.K.!

Because most homes are above 16?C all the time.

Hence all the articles and posts about putting fridges and freezers in garages, outbuildings and other low temperature areas although, just as bad if it gets too hot that all essentially say, don’t do it.
