My Leibherr Premium integrated larder fridge (model no. KLE 2340 – 23)is not cooling suffciently unless using the ‘Super cool’ button! The compressor is running and the rear condensor is hot with a good temperature drop over it’s width. The evaporator plate is clear of frost and the auto defrost works.
The only item I can see which might be a cause for concern is the melting of the black tar like substance surrounding the capillary tube where it is joined to the return from the evaporator.
The condensor is clean and the ventilation excellent although I suspect the visual temperature read out is not accurate. A thermometer placed in the body of the appliance reads between 8-10 degrees without the ‘super cool’ option being activated.
Any ideas as to how to indentify the fault or, at 12 years old, is it worth invetigating and repairing?

Hi: You may get better luck with an answer if you post your query in the Refrigeration help section rather than the Washing machine section. Maybe 1 of the Moderators will see it & move it to the correct section.
