Why on earth would a fridge want to talk to a washing machine! I could understand a tumble dryer talking to a washing machine i.e. what weight it has inside the washing machine but any thing else seems to me to be of no use.

    Simple

Fridge tells washing machine what stains it can expect from the food used that day. 😆

quote(“If your smartphone is equipped with our technology, you can send a message to the washing machine to turn itself on.”

“And if for whatever reason it doesn’t work, you can ask your fridge to transmit the order to the washing machine.)

Thats there answer anyway……It dont wash with me…..get it.

Siemens/Bosch had a system like this about 4 years ago (IIRC?)

Many of their ‘top of the range’ appliances had a ‘Service@home’ system compatibility. All appliances (i.e Oven, fridge, dishwasher) could be linked via a user interface and connected to the Internet. From there you could use your mobile phone to stop and start any appliance connected. If a fault occurred with any appliance then it’s error code would be displayed.

That was then but whether it got off the ground since I’ve no idea. 😕

I remember the Beckhams bought Electrolux F/F products with similar capabilities.

Although I fear they may have returned them when they went faulty. 😆
